Slim, curvaceous and packed with technological muscle, the CDM8960 camera phone from UTStarcom Personal Communications, a division of UTStarcom, Inc., is a great little package. By combining a small, thin form factor with a large list of features including Bluetooth®, memory expansion and a 1.3 megapixel camera, the CDM8960 delivers both sophisticated wireless communications capabilities and smart styling. The CDM8960 made its official debut today at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the UTStarcom booth.

"In a word, the CDM8960 is smooth. A sophisticated handset with a low profile design, the phone looks and feels great and offers superb camera phone performance," said Philip Christopher, president of UTStarcom Personal Communications.

Measuring (h) 3.7" x (w) 1.9" x (d) 0.8" and weighing 3.2 ounces with the standard battery, the CDM8960 is one the slimmest cell phones to be sold in the U.S. The dual-band (800/1900 MHz CDMA) multimedia camera phone features EVDO capability designed to make it quick and easy to browse the Internet.

With Bluetooth capability, the handset is designed to connect with other Bluetooth devices in a cinch. In addition, the CDM8960 is designed to support video on demand and music on demand (carrier dependent) allowing mobile users to download their favorite movies, TV shows, and songs.

With the 1.3 megapixel camera, consumers will have no trouble snapping, saving and sending photos to their friends and family. The CDM8960 is designed to allow text, picture and video messaging and has a standard memory of 64 MB Flash/64 MB Ram, and a built-in mini-SD card slot allows mobile users to store additional multimedia files.

Videos and photos will appear sharp on the handset's two-inch 262 Color TFT (176 x 220) main display screen and 1.1" 65K Color CSTN (96 x 96) exterior screen. The CDM8960 is designed to support many of the popular video (MPEG4, WMV, 3GP, 3G3, H.263 and H.262), image (JPG, GIF, Animated GIF, MBP, WBMP, PNG, BCI and SVG) and audio (MIDI, SP-MIDI, PMD, QCP-13K, EVRC, I-MELODY, MMF, MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+) formats.
