LIN TV Signs Retransmission Agreement With Verizon for FiOS TV

Television station operator LIN TV Corp. said Wednesday it reached an agreement with Verizon for retransmission services of its broadcast stations through Verizon's all-digital FiOS TV service.

The agreement grants Verizon the right to LIN TV's locally produced content, for video-on-demand and to carry the signals of all the LIN stations in markets where Verizon provides FiOS TV service.

Two LIN TV stations in the Norfolk, Va., market will be the first to air on Verizon's FiOS TV.

Shares of LIN TV rose 30 cents to $10.25 in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange, while Verizon Communications Inc. added 88 cents, or 2.4 percent, to $38.13. Earlier in the session, Verizon hit its 52-week high of $38.47.
